Weekly Photo Challenge: Contrasts

light and dark

Ok, so I’m a bit late on this one, but seeing as there is no new challenge for this week, yet, I thought I’d try and finally get last week’s submitted.

This is taken from the dark inside Battle Abbey (the site of the infamous battle of 1066) looking out at the light on a very sunny day. It was so lovely and cool inside the dark stone rooms compared to the heat of the sun outside.

For more contrasts, see the Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge.

  1. Bravo! This shot could be either the book cover for a Stephen King novel, an album cover or a travel poster to an exotic yet dramatic far away destination. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Definitely, a stunning image! Mainly, because the amazing composition. That burst of light, coming from outside and entering trough the doorway, making a way along the floor, and going up to the roof illuminating those fabulous arcs which take you to the one in the entrance portal and, then, you feel trapped making the same visual tour all around the image, again and again. Fantastic Katie!
